Website Tester

We Want You:

We are looking for someone who has a “can do” attitude. A person who is self-motivated, who can work independently, and also thrive within a team. As a Website Tester at BET Software, you will be responsible for testing in the software development and deployment environment. In addition to testing functionality and the user experience on various website properties, you will also test workflows and report on issues and fixes while following automated and manual testing procedures and processes on various platforms.

As this is a customer-facing role, you will also be responsible for making recommendations on on-site design and usability,  and ensuring Quality Assurance is measured effectively and fit for purpose.

 

You Bring:

  • BSC / BCOM / NDIP
  • + 1-year Software Testing experience with experience in testing Web Applications
  • 12 months of IT/QA experience
  • Experience in cross-browser/environment testing
  • Exposure to software testing tools
  • Knowledge of web standards and technologies including accessibility compliance
  • Knowledge of the SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle)
  • Domain knowledge assessment
 

 What You’ll Do

  • Analysing users’ stories and/or use cases/requirements for validity and feasibility.
  • Collaborate closely with other Team Members and departments.
  • Execute all levels of testing (System, Integration, and Regression)
  • Play a key role in software quality improvement for customer-facing websites.
  • Identify test scenarios for website solutions produced by the Team.
  • Write test plans and perform functional, standards, and cross-browser compliance testing.
  • Identify and document all system errors.
  • Maintain a repository of system test plans.
  • Ensure all work meets customer expectations and departmental quality standards.
  • Maintain an active knowledge of software testing tools, standards, and processes.
  • Detect, log, and track software defects and inconsistencies according to the team standards.
  • Provide timely solutions.
  • Apply quality engineering principles throughout the Agile product lifecycle.
  • Provide support and documentation.
  • Provide appropriate feedback to stakeholders and Team Members.
  • Immediately inform management and relevant stakeholders of any roadblocks which may cause delays or ability to complete assigned tasks.
  • Accepts changes to tasks, plans, and procedures in order to align with the strategic direction of the organisation and appropriately adjusts behaviour and activities to changing conditions.
  • Makes confident, timely, fact-based decisions drawing on a broad range of resources through collaboration with others.
