Product Manager

We are looking for someone with experience in leading talented Teams and executing product objectives at the highest standard. A Product Manager that is the synthesis of several responsibilities including business strategists, product owners, business and market analysts as well as a customer liaison.

The successful incumbent will carry out user and product research, think strategically and have a commercial focus to drive results and eliminate roadblocks. You must be able to demonstrate deep product expertise using a broad range of Product Management techniques to analyse the market and competitive conditions, perform client and user research and develop strong product visions and roadmaps.

  

You Bring:

  • Relevant degree.
  • 5 years’ experience in the software development industry in a complex, high performance software environment.
  • Minimum 2 years leadership experience within the software industry.
  • 2 years’ experience in the gaming industry preferable.
  • Proven track record of results technical and leadership.
  • Analysis and budgeting experience.
  • Proven results in engaging customers at executive level and senior management levels.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • The ability to coach and develop others while respecting their individual objectives.
  • Influencing others by creating a participative and empowered environment. Create a high-performance environment for Teams. Empower Teams and individuals and drive participation for all Team Members.
  • Stress tolerance: Able to handle a high-performing and fast-paced environment. Handle stressful situations calmly and effectively.
  • Results orientation: focused on the realisation of objectives and achieving ambitious objectives.
  • Understanding of business objectives: seeks to understand the bigger picture of the business objectives. Ability to craft plans to realise the business objectives.
  • Understanding of software development methodologies: current understanding of high-performance and scale software delivery and operational methodologies.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Create and execute product, technical and operational strategy, that aligns to product strategy to the delivery roadmap and group taking into consideration products, markets, customers and services.
  • Facilitate an understanding of competitor analysis and market research to identify areas of opportunity and risk.
  • Align with all other delivery-focused Teams with the aim to consistently achieve measurable objectives and develop a business case for new/innovative product stream/s for strategic development.
  • Skilled at being able to translate strategic and tactical plans for execution and implementation at an operational level.
  • Actively develops, drives and maintains product analysis (own and competitor) with the goal of improving BET’s existing product positioning.
  • Accountable for the reporting and analysis of the relevant performance metrics.
  • Institute strategic development so that the Development Team is ahead of business demand.
  • Manages direct and indirect reports.
  • Create a sense of ownership, with the intent of delivery value to the product and users/customers.
  • Guide and manage Teams of Product Specialists, UI/UX designers and Business Analysts. Create cohesion and synergy between Teams to optimise collaborative potential.
  • Ensure the Team is appropriately resourced, and members are equipped with the requisite skill required for both current and future projects. Understanding of requirements to be delivered on.
  • Identify knowledge, skill or understanding which is required to improve performance and capability and action necessary steps to acquire it.
  • Provide mentorship/coaching with the intent to impart knowledge, develop direct report and ensure that this filters throughout Team Members.
  • Collaboratively works with Team Members to set performance goals and measures.
  • Facilitates change management in appropriate levels due to changing situations and organisational /marketing requirements.
