Senior Infrastructure Engineer (DBN)

We Want You:

You Bring:

• A minimum of 4 years IT Infrastructure experience.
• Relevant industry certifications will be advantageous.
• Server implementation experience.
• Understanding of cloud technologies (AWS or Azure).
• Experience in Microsoft applications including Office 365 and Azure.
• Able to work as part of a team and in unsupervised situations.
• Experience working closely with a development team.
• Windows and Linux Server System Administration.
• Ability to build strong relationships with end-users at all levels of the organisation and provide outstanding customer service.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated history of producing high quality systems documentation.
• Relevant industry certifications.
• Advantage Red Hat OpenShift certified – RHCE.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes.
• OpenShift Administrator a benefit.
• Knowledge of maintaining products like REDIS, COUCH.
• Experience with Grafana or similar monitoring tools

What You’ll Do:

• Manage, configure, and optimise Windows and Linux servers, ensuring efficiency, security, and minimal downtime. Implement updates, manage users, configure settings, and troubleshoot issues.
• Maintain and optimise Kubernetes clusters, ensuring high availability, scalability, and resource efficiency. Deploy containerised applications and monitor cluster health.
• Oversee installation, configuration, and integration of software, applications, and infrastructure products, ensuring stability, security, and compliance.
• Support key business programs with version upgrades, software issue resolution, and security compliance.
• Manage and patch VMware platforms, including server creation and deployment.
• Monitor and maintain infrastructure components (servers, storage, networking), conduct health checks, verify backups, and perform system diagnostics to prevent disruptions.
• Oversee firmware upgrades for infrastructure hardware, ensuring timely application, compatibility testing, and risk mitigation.
• Manage backup solutions, software, and hardware installations, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning.
• Support audits for regulatory environments and manage enterprise storage (SAN, NAS, iSCSI, Fiber Channel).
• Automate tasks using scripting languages (PowerShell, Python) and tools (Ansible, Terraform) to streamline provisioning, patching, and maintenance.
• Deploy and manage virtual machines in public cloud environments (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), ensuring optimal resource utilisation.
• Implement monitoring solutions, proactively resolve alerts, analyse trends, and conduct performance tuning for scalability and efficiency.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, providing guidance on best practices, troubleshooting, and project management.
• Lead incident management and resolution during outages, ensuring minimal disruption and implementing permanent fixes.
• Stay updated on industry trends and recommend new technologies to improve performance, security, and scalability.
• Provide on-call support for critical infrastructure issues and after-hours emergencies.
• Communicate infrastructure health, risks, and plans with senior management, providing key reports and strategic recommendations.
